VLCC rates have more than doubled in just two weeks.
The Baltic Exchange’s VLCC time charter equivalent assessment rose from $11,200 per day on 30 January to nearly $23,300 per day on Monday, a consistent trend upward that saw rates jump by more than $12,000.
