The battle for control of Belgian tanker owner Euronav has taken another twist with the news that major shareholder John Fredriksen wants a seat on the board.
The billionaire shipowner has built his holding in the New York and Brussels-listed company to 25% after pulling out of a merger deal through tanker outfit Frontline last month.
Euronav shareholders will vote on the make-up of the board on 23 March, with the other major shareholder — the Saverys family — also proposing its own candidates.
