Shipping law firm Campbell Johnston Clark (CJC) has continued to add talent to its team of specialists in London.
Two new trainee solicitors have joined: master mariner Henry Andrews and law graduate Luiza Zakaib.
Andrews has more than a decade of seagoing experience, working on vessels ranging from cruise ships and offshore units to towage and salvage ships.
He was most recently a master at AP Moller-Maersk for two-and-a-half years, and was an officer on Disney Cruise Line and MSC Cruises vessels before that.
This brings CJC’s total number of mariners to four, all with a wealth of operational experience and in-depth knowledge of the industry, the law firm said.
Zakaib joins after completing a law degree at the University of Southampton in England. Her degree came with a maritime specialism.
“She has a strong interest in the future of shipping and in particular the legal framework relating to autonomous vessels. Originally from Brazil, Luiza is fluent in Portuguese,” CJC said.
In October, CJC boosted its team with a familiar face and an addition from the world of protection and indemnity insurance, welcoming back Harry Savva as a senior associate in London.
The lawyer left CJC nearly two years ago to work at UK tanker and bulker owner Union Maritime, where he was senior legal counsel.
Neil Jackson, meanwhile, joined the Newcastle office, having spent eight years at North P&I Club as a senior solicitor.
