VLGC rates have pushed above $100,000 per day from the US as discharge and Panama Canal delays tie up tonnage.
The Baltic Exchange assessed spot rates from Houston in the US Gulf to Chiba, Japan, at $102,000 per day on Friday, up 36% over a week.
Rates were also described as at a high level of $97,300 from the Middle East Gulf to Asia, up 18% from the same time seven days previously.
