French shipbroker BRS Group expects tanker ordering to increase next year as price growth eases.
Tanker owners are beginning to return to shipyards for crude and product vessels. Eastern Pacific Shipping has been ordering MR tankers, and Euronav has put to paper for more suezmaxes.
“Although there is a looming recession, considering approximate three-year lead times for ordering a tanker, we do not expect this to curb ordering appetite,” BRS said in its latest monthly report.
