Fincantieri shares fall as Paris and Rome trade blows

Shares in Fincantieri came under selling pressure today as Rome and Paris continued to jostle over the ownership of STX France.

Fincantieri's stock slipped as much as 13% on Wednesday, before recovering around half of that decline, following French claims it would nationalize the yard if Italy refused even joint ownership.

STX France, which Reuters notes is the only French yard able to build aircraft carriers, has been the subject of sales talks following the collapse of South Korea's STX Group.
