Chinese shipbuilders are moving into LNG carrier construction, with estimates that the country’s yards could soon be able to produce up to 30 newbuildings per year between them.
In 2022 alone, three shipyards — Jiangnan Shipyard, Dalian Shipbuilding Industries Co and, most recently, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Co — have added LNG carriers to their product list.
