Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has made its much-anticipated move into the LNG carrier newbuilding sector by signing a licence agreement with French membrane containment system designer GTT.
The technical assistance and licence agreement enables the privately held Chinese yard to build vessels using GTT membrane technologies.
GTT said Yangzijiang completed its qualification process in record time, as the first validation steps began in March 2022.
