VLCCs and suezmax tankers have seen the greatest shifts following the global oil trade reshuffle brought on by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine while aframaxes have added tonne miles.
According to a note from Vortexa freight analyst Ioannis Papadimitriou, VLCCs are increasingly headed toward Europe and India, suezmaxes are increasingly geared toward carrying Russian cargoes and aframaxes are being used for longer-haul trades.
