Germany’s SAL Heavy Lift has placed an order for up to six multipurpose (MPP) and heavylift newbuildings at Wuhu Shipyard in China.
The Hamburg-based company confirmed the newbuildings order spree, adding that the deal was for four firm vessels plus an option for two additional ships.
SAL declined to disclose the cost of the 14,600-dwt newbuildings and the reasons behind the order.
