George Economou is facing new litigation in New York, including a class action that claims DryShips' capital raising deal with Kalani Investments is illegal.
Investor Maxine Hodges filed the latest lawsuit in a federal court in New York alleging that US-listed DryShips' deal with with Kalani amounts to "pseudo-underwriting", since the financial firm has been buying hundreds of millions of dollars worth of the shipowner's shares with the intention of reselling them.
