Both spot and term charter rates for LNG carriers are moving higher as charterers continue to seek shipping cover and tonnage supply thins, particularly in the Atlantic region.
Spark Commodities hoisted its rate estimates for a 160,000-cbm, tri-fuel diesel-electric (TFDE) Atlantic trading LNG carrier — the Spark30S — to $102,500 per day, up $3,000 per day on Tuesday.
