Shuttered refining capacity and tight global supply might grease the skids on Jones Act waivers for product tankers.
In its weekly tanker market note, Barry Rogliano Salles (BRS) said inventories of middle distillates — like home heating oil, diesel and jet fuel — on the US east coast were at extremely low levels and that half of its refining capacity had been shuttered in the last decade in favour of Gulf coast facilities.
