Bangkok-based carrier Regional Container Lines (RCL) is forking out $266m for two more 12,000-teu container ships to be built in Japan.
The vessels, costing $133m each, will be delivered in August and December 2024, according to a statement to the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
The contract was signed on 28 March with Nihon Shipyard Co — a joint venture between Imabari Shipbuilding and Japan Marine United.
