Diana Shipping has offloaded a capesize bulker to an undisclosed Japanese buyer in a $50m leaseback transaction.
The Semiramis Paliou-led owner of 34 bulkers sold the 181,500-dwt Florida (built 2022) with plans to bareboat charter in the ship for 10 years with purchase options after three years.
New York-listed Diana said it expects to gross $50m off the entire deal, which is set to start on 29 March.
