A Russian multipurpose vessel carrying petroleum-derived pitch has been prevented from docking in the US.
Fesco’s 12,700-dwt Fesco Uliss (built 2004) was not allowed to enter Eastport, Maine, the Press Herald and the AP news agency reported.
The vessel, carrying 8,000 tonnes of pitch in bags, had asked to dock earlier in March after being turned away from a port on the St Lawrence Seaway by the Canadian government.
