John Fredriksen-backed shipowning company SFL Corp has secured five-year charters for six 14,000-teu container ships with German liner operator Hapag-Lloyd.
The New York-listed sale-and-leaseback specialist will charter the vessels to the German operator in 2023 and 2024 when their existing charters with Evergreen Line expire.
The Oslo-based company will then have charter coverage until 2028/2029 at firm rates, reflecting the current strong container market, the company said.
