Norway’s Viken Shipping has written to long-term charterers of its tankers in a bid to prevent them from loading Russian oil.
The Bergen-based shipowner’s principal Tom Chr Steckmest called the Russian invasion of Ukraine “unacceptable” and “beyond belief” in a letter to counterparties.
He acknowledged that the charterers are aiming for profitable operation for the vessels.
