Cosco Shipping Specialised Carriers is making a big push on its car carrier fleet on the back of China’s automobile export growth.
The Guangzhou-based shipping outfit has only five vessels on the water and plans to expand its fleet fivefold through newbuildings.
Shipbuilding sources said Cosco Specialised is looking to order at least 15 LNG dual-fuel pure car/truck carrier (PCTC) newbuildings of 7,000 ceu to 9,000 ceu.
