Liner shipping newcomers Sea-Lead Shipping and Transfar Shipping have launched new transpacific services in a bid to overcome port congestion.
Singapore-based Sea-Lead is launching its first service linking Asia to the US east coast using four ships over 6,000 teu taken from local tonnage provider OM Maritime.
The goal is “to avoid port congestion that is hampering efficient service at many other ports”, the carrier said.
