UK shipbroker Galbraith’s has revealed that the number of tankers being laid up is growing quickly as rates remain negative for some vessels.
The London-based shop calculates that 1.1m dwt of crude ships are now stacked, the highest level for at least seven years, beating the previous peak in summer 2019.
There were no dirty tankers laid up for much of 2017, and only 0.5m
