Sweden’s Concordia Maritime is eyeing a slice of the container ship earnings bonanza by evaluating the possibility of converting a product tanker into a feeder vessel.
The Stena-controlled owner of nine 65,000-dwt P-Max ships has launched a technical design study together with Stena Teknik and a German consulting company specialising in ship design.
The aim is to investigate the feasibility of converting and adapting a P-Max for container transport, ending up with a feeder ship of 2,100 teu.
