US lawmakers have upped the pressure on the liner sector, despite an easing of container freight rates and ongoing efforts to tackle congestion.
The US Senate on Thursday introduced a bill proposing changes to the US Shipping Act that liner operators see as “deeply flawed”.
The move sparked fresh concern from carriers who see themselves as being unfairly targeted for shore-side logistics problems.
