A continued appetite for new container ships and gas carriers is keeping tanker owners from placing self-sabotaging newbuilding orders, according to Euronav chief executive Hugo De Stoop.
The Belgian company’s boss told analysts on a conference call that it would be possible for a tanker owner to “squeeze” in maybe one or two new vessels for delivery at the back end of 2024.
