Newbuilding deliveries will keep a lid on tanker earnings through to the end of 2022, Danish Ship Finance (DSF) believes.
But the finance house is hopeful of rates rising from 2023, although scrapping levels and increasing demand will be key for shipowners.
DSF believes that a sustainable recovery for crude vessels still seems a year away, calculating that up to the end of 2022, vessels corresponding to 6% of the fleet are due to be delivered.
