Bulker owner Franbo Lines will be ordering four handysize newbuildings worth $130m at a Japanese shipyard.
A Franbo executive said his company had received approval from its board of directors to order the 40,000-dwt vessels. It will be paying about $32.5m each for the ships.
The company said the vessels will be replacing some of the firm's old tonnage, in addition to expanding the fleet.
