Clarksons Research is cautiously optimistic of better times for beleaguered tanker owners in 2022.
The research division of UK shipbroker Clarksons said there is a likely upside to markets next year, with vessel demand projected to increase by 5% or 6%, bringing it close to 2019 levels.
The company said that with Opec+ cuts currently scheduled to remain in force for much of the year, gains may be more focused towards the second half of 2022.
