Danish liner giant AP Moller-Maersk is looking at retrofitting some of its ships to burn methanol as a way of meeting its decarbonisation targets.
The company's head of decarbonisation Morten Bo Christiansen told Arctic Securities Energy Transition Summit that retrofitting is one of the reasons the company "likes" methanol, which it has selected for nine newbuildings.
