A new survey by shipping consultancy Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has revealed a large majority of cargo owners and charterers would be willing to pay extra for carbon-neutral shipping.
The results from 125 shippers should help clarify shipowners' thought processes as they decide whether to embark on the zero-carbon journey now or wait until the regulatory and technological pathway is clearer, BCG believes.
