Newcastlemax owner 2020 Bulkers has converted index-linked charters for two of its vessels to fixed-rate contracts for the final four months of this year.
The Oslo-listed owner's 208,400-dwt vessels Bulk Sandefjord and Bulk Shanghai (both built 2019) have been fixed at a gross rate of $54,000 per day between 1 September and 31 December.
This is only slightly higher than the Baltic Capesize Index assessment of average spot rates, which on Tuesday was assessed at $51,472 per day.
