A seafarer aboard an AP Moller-Maersk containership had an improvised gun held against his head during a robbery attempt off Manila in early July.
The incident occurred aboard the 2,086-teu Maersk Nussfjord (built 2021) in the early hours of 17 July 2021 at Manila's South Harbour Anchorage area.
News of the incident was reported in the latest update by the Singapore-based Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP).
