Marfin Management is looking to limit its liability in a dispute over a bulker crash earlier this month.
The Monaco-based bulker operator filed papers in the US federal court for the Eastern District of Louisiana on 22 July asking the court to cap its exposure to $9.8m — the value of the 52,000-dwt Jalma Topic (built 2006) and less than the $15m-plus sought in a lawsuit stemming from the collision.
