Hyundai yards exceed annual $14.9bn newbuilding target — with five months in hand

Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) has already exceeded its $14.9bn sales target for 2021, five months before the year ends.

Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings, which controls shipyards within the group, said it achieved the annual order target after winning two LNG carrier newbuildings worth KRW 457.1bn ($398.4m) from an Asian company.

With this deal, KSOE said it has clinched newbuildings orders worth $15.2bn
