AP Moller-Maersk is in discussions with a South Korean shipyard for up to 12 neo-panamax containerships worth more than $2bn in total.
Shipbuilding sources said the Danish liner giant is looking to order between six and 12 dual-fuel vessels of 15,000 teu each that will be capable of operating on methanol or very low-sulphur fuel oil.
