AP Moller Maersk has confirmed an order for the word’s first methanol-fuelled containership at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD).
The Danish liner giant said the single vessel will have a capacity of 2,100 teu and be fitted with a dual-fuel engine, giving it the option to run on methanol or very low sulphur fuel oil.
Delivery is scheduled for mid-2023.
