Clarksons Platou raises forecasts as containership owners lock in vessels for five-year charters

Containership owners are likely to see record markets last for the remainder of this year, as charterers seek to secure tonnage over longer periods.

Clarksons Platou Securities, the investment banking arm of UK shipbroker Clarksons, said that over the past few quarters the sector has been enjoying all-time highs, or at least rates equalling the peak of 2004 and 2005.
