The first US-flagged wind turbine installation (WTIV) vessels already has work lined up.
The $450m, Dominion Energy-owned Charybdis — currently under construction at the Keppel AmFELS shipyard in Texas — will start in the employment of US utility Eversource and Danish green energy player Orsted to aid in the construction of two wind farms in the Atlantic Ocean.
The adjacent farms — Revolution Wind and Sunrise Wind — will provide energy for nearly 1m homes in New York, Rhode Island and Connecticut once completed.
