Danish Ship Finance (DSF) believes massive LPG carrier recycling may be needed to protect rates in the near term.
A team of analysts led by Christopher Rex, the Danish financier's head of innovation and research, concluded "extraordinary levels of scrapping" could be necessary in 2021 and 2022.
The outlook for this period looks challenged unless demolition of older, less-efficient vessels can balance the market, DSF said.
