Taiwan’s U-Ming Marine Transport has ordered two post-panamax bulk carrier newbuildings at Oshima Shipbuilding as part of the company’s fleet-expansion drive.
The 100,000-dwt ships bring the total number of bulkers it has on order at yards to 10, costing about $610m.
A U-Ming spokesman confirmed the order, saying it now has four post-panamaxes booked at the Japanese shipyard.
It said the latest vessels are options help by the company at Oshima when it signed up for its earlier newbuildings in 2019.
