Atlantic dry bulk volumes face a major boost after a new biomass power station in the UK was given the green light.
The £650m ($840m) Tees Renewable Energy Plant (Tees REP) near Middlesbrough will be financed, owned and operated by a joint venture between investment bank Macquarie and Danish pension fund PKA.
Once operational in 2020, the Tees REP will generate enough electricity to supply about 600,000 households as well as heat for supply on site and for nearby users.
