The 46,000-dwt vessel has been sold for $2.55m to an undisclosed buyer, which is marginally higher than its scrap value.
Splosna Plovba’s investment in the Vipava can hardly have been successful. It was bought from Germany’s Peter Dohle for a full $65m as Isolde in January 2008.
In April, Splosna Plovba sold the sistership Postojna and 42,000-dwt Lipica and Triglav (all built 1998) for demolition.
