The Hyundai Mipo–built 46,000-dwt Teesta Spirit (built 2004) was last week reported sold for $14m; a price in line with expectations.
The tanker will be the newest in the IMS fleet, which comprises a containership, four small bulkers and four medium-range (MR) tankers. The four tankers were built between 1998 and 2000.
IMS’ last purchase was in September last year when it bought the 47,000-dwt Bering Sea (renamed Bering, built 1998) from Russian owner SCF Group (Sovcomflot) for a reported $8.1m.
