Trouble with its ships has seen passenger numbers fall at Condor Ferries so far this year.
The Channel Islands operator has welcomed 22% fewer people on board to and from Guernsey, compared to 2015, its CEO Paul Luxon told the BBC.
The number of people arriving in Jersey has plunged 20.4%.
A new ferry, the 6,300–gt Condor Liberation (built 2014), has been hit by numerous faults since its launch.
