Four of the biggest classification societies promoted new leaders for their shipping divisions in the past few months. One of them put a woman in charge of reorganising its maritime unit.
Kirsi Tikka stepped up to the role of executive vice-president, global marine, at ABS in February, tasked with heading a new centralised unit for shipping that aims to align strategic planning, client development and services with the industry’s technical needs.
