The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is lining up £170m ($249m) of new investment in ships and port facilities.
The BBC reported that it has pledged to add a third ferry to its fleet linking the island to the British mainland.
Last year it was told its ferry services contract, which runs to 2026, could be put to tender unless it improved.
