The UK south coast port is synonymous these days with cruiseships but, as exhibition promoter Southampton City Council says, ocean liners were the port’s “lifeblood” between the 1920s and 1950s, bringing “employment, industry and glamour to the city”.
Staged at the SeaCity Museum, the exhibition sets out to tell the story of the great ocean liners, the romance of sea travel and life onboard.
