Brazil’s competition authority launched formal proceedings to investigate nine car carrier operators.
The superintendent-general’s office of the Economic Defence Administrative Commission (CADE) said the ro-ro operators are suspected of running an “international cartel”.
Most of the companies have already faced similar charges in multiple jurisdictions, including the US, Japan and Chile, for an alleged global scheme involving customer allocation and price fixing.
