The Singapore owner booked a 143-metre-length-overall multipurpose diving support construction vessel (DSCV) from the Shenzhen shipyard, sister publication Upstream reported.
The vessel, built according to the Red Class 6027 MT-design, will be delivered in the first quarter of 2018.
No price tag was given but last year Ultra Deep said a ship ordered with the same design cost $200m.
The 8,000-dwt unit will have 1,500 metres of deck space, a 400-tonne crane and accommodations for 400.
