The 165,500-cbm Magellan Spirit (built 2009) got stuck in soft mud with a pilot onboard while exiting the Bonny Island LNG terminal.
All of the crew and the cargo are safe, Teekay said.
The company added all available options to refloat the vessel are currently being considered, with a refloating operation scheduled early next week.
"Our emergency response team is mobilized and continues to work with all relevant authorities and expert advisors to consider all available options to refloat the vessel," Teekay said in a statement provided to TradeWinds.
