Managing director Takis Koutris confirms the pair of 51,300-dwt tankers, which carry Hull Nos S1179 and S1180, have been sold. He was unable to reveal the identity of the buyers but broking sources say the ships have gone to Greeks, with some linking George Economou’s name to the deal.
The two units, which are due for delivery in 2015, are said to have fetched $37m each.
